Overall Satisfaction with M‑Files

I am a Power Initiator. I create, review, and update Safety Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions. Train and Re-train employees on the above by Creating and Managing Learning Rules. Troubleshoot and correct user error. Train and Re-train M-Files users. The product helps achieve my work tasks by keeping all our documents organized and in one place.

  • It certainly makes finding, reviewing, and updating document easier.
  • For me, it covers the efficiency and compliance bases.
I have only seen M-Files referenced in these systems. I had nothing to do with the implementation.
I have no experience with similar products.
I am not a software expert but understand the complexity of a product such as this, but in my opinion the product is difficult, confusing, and time consuming to master. It takes years if not used constantly. After several years of use I am still learning to manipulate the interface to work as I desire. It gets the job done by holding all of our documents in one place and fairly easy to access once learned.

Using M‑Files

14 - Every one uses M-Files for their Safety Training, step by step work instructions, from Upper Management, to Shipping helper, to Machine Operator.
1 - I am the support person for our plant. You should be methodical and patient. People are slow to accept that M-Files is a good product. Their frustration stems from intermittent use.

People are warming up to it. Nothing breaks morale like forcing another app language to learn.

Evaluating M‑Files and Competitors

Yes - I think so, I wasn't involve with the process, but I think it was Support Central. Support Central was hated from the begginning and never recovered. It's search engine was pitiful.

I wasn't there, but I know it's difficult to arrive to this decision for the entire company and cheerlead until it becomes accepted.
