The Swiss Army knife for IT
Overall Satisfaction with ManageEngine Endpoint Central
We were lacking visibility on the infrastructure, whether internally or remotely. We were looking for a solution that would allow us to have an overall view of our equipment, with the capability to keep it updated easily. Since our fleet also includes smartphones, we wanted to manage our fleet and secure it regardless of where they were located. Additionally, we needed a solution to manage vulnerabilities.
Pros
- It helps to facilitate the administration of a network of workstations and servers.
- The deployment of applications and updates is very easy to implement, and greatly facilitates keeping workstations and servers up to date.
- The commissioning of the solution is very simple, and with the help of the external gateway, it allows for the supervision of all equipment, as long as they have internet access.
- We can manage multiple mobile fleets, with user smartphones on one side and industrial smartphones with specific missions on the other. The possibility of applying a kiosk mode is not negligible.
Cons
- The administration console is not the most visually appealing (although very functional)
- In vulnerability management, there is a lack of a rating system for the compliance status of the inventory.
- We were unable to use the OS Deployment part. Probably due to lack of time, but also because it was not easy to implement.
- We have saved a lot of time in keeping the posts and servers updated (from an hour a day for one person to about 1 hour a week)
- Endpoint Central includes a remote control tool. This has allowed us to save on other solutions we had (TeamViewer, ...).
- Having an integrated MDM is a huge plus, and it has also allowed us to reduce our costs.
We preferred Endpoint Central for several reasons. The wide range of functionality, the ability to manage our entire infrastructure from a single console, and the capability to manage our smartphones. No other solution allowed us to do all this, except Microsoft Intune which is very complex to use. Moreover, the cost of Endpoint Central, with all these features, is much lower than an aggregate of several other solutions.
