Overall Satisfaction with ManageEngine OpManager
Recently we made market checkup for monitoring software and found out that ManageEngine has some unique features needed in our environment and price is a quite lower. Idea to have central place for monitoring network devices, servers and virtual vmware environment + some applications (databases, ibm mq, java apps...) lead us to that product. So we started migration from existing solution to ManageEngine.
- responsive GUI
- able to cover wide set vendors
- have some unique features like rack views, business views
- management of enterprise edition is really complex
- lack of integration with AppManager (application monitoring)
- not so easy to integrate with SIEM
- single pane of glass monitoring
- wide systems coverage (windows, linux, aix,..)
- GUI responsiveness
- we replaced current solution and gain big saving with some extra monitoring features included
- negative impact is on infrastructure footprint of solution which is quite big
- SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (npm), SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager (NCM), Zabbix and BMC TrueSight Automation for Networks
Main reason to select ManageEngine was price/performance ratio. Another reason was great coverage of monitoring of different technologies and modules: network devices of various vendors, network modules like NCM, NFA, support for monitoring of vmware virtualisation , citrix virtualisation , middleware monitoring including ibm mq (which is quite rarely supported) and database monitoring. Local support, and experience was also important factor.
