Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Dynamics 365

Microsoft Dynamics is a cloud-based software that addresses various aspects of a company's business processes, such as sales management and finance operations (ERP), customer management (CDP/Marketing), and customer service. Each aspect is handled by a different module, and in our company, we have primarily worked on integrations with the customer management and marketing module.

Pros

  • Modularity
  • Customization does not require coding (most of the time)
  • 100% Cloud based

Cons

  • Step learning curve (each module is different)
  • The licensing system can be tricky to understand
  • 3rd party integrations requires custom developments
  • Unification of older platforms in one
  • Single point of contact of 3rd party integrators
  • Licensing based on contacts, not users
Certain aspects of Dynamics are extremely well done, and since it’s a relatively new software, it has a clean, Microsoft-style UI. However, also in typical Microsoft fashion, navigation - finding what you need - can sometimes be counterintuitive. On the other hand, the Power Platform (the automation and process management engine under the hood) is actually powerful: easy to get started with, but complex to master.
Dynamics is the middle ground between the Salesforce ecosystem and the SAP ecosystem: it's versatile enough to rival Salesforce, but its third-party integrations are significantly weaker. At the same time, it has enough capabilities to compete with SAP, even though the German platform performs better when handling large scale data.

Do you think Microsoft Dynamics 365 delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Microsoft Dynamics 365's feature set?

Yes

Did Microsoft Dynamics 365 live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Yes

Would you buy Microsoft Dynamics 365 again?

Yes

Dynamics 365 is perfect when you decide to unify different software solutions (ERP, CRM, CDP, Marketing, etc.) into a single platform. It makes integration easier if you have a clear vision of what you are doing. Being modular, it is highly adaptable and can work for both an eCommerce company and a large multinational.
