Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Entra ID

I use Microsoft Entra ID as a default Login method in my organisation. To access all the resources and all the services we use SSO. This SSO is provided by Microsoft Entra ID and connected to a centralized system. Using Microsoft Entra ID, I login in to my Company issued laptop, email and teams.

Pros

  • SSO login to login almost everywhere in my company.
  • No need to add password to login and use only my company email.
  • All the resources access are provided on the email itself.

Cons

  • Microsoft Entra ID is slow to load and login and many times it just get struck.
  • Microsoft Entra ID management is very complex and doesn't support easy interface.
  • When reset the password, the updation is not instant and require time to reflect changes.
  • the login time is reduced to few seconds
  • The process become complex and require people to maintain
We have a onprem AAD deployment, this is synced with Microsoft Entra ID online. All the password and identities are synced from Microsoft Entra ID to AAD. But no identities are synced from AAD to Microsoft Entra ID. There are special on prem identities for special purpose.
Yes, Microsoft Entra ID can be used secure non-microsoft apps. Many application have option to integrate the Microsoft Entra ID. A identity is created inside Microsoft Entra ID and this will used to authenticate the identity to non-microsoft apps.
SaaS application like dayforce and jira, smartsheet are connected to Microsoft Entra ID. we have various on house applications are connected with Microsoft Entra ID.
Yes, the login process is totally changed. When Microsoft Entra ID is deployed, login is transferred into microsoft page which authenticate and confirm the identity. The end user actually will see microsoft login page asking for password and user id. Further may authenticate MFA and after this it redirect to the resources.
Our company ecosystem is microsoft based and using Microsoft Entra ID is very easy, The integration is much easier for microsoft environment as compared to other.

Microsoft Microsoft Entra ID is very well suited for companies which have laptop, and many resources, It can be implemented so that all the access are just granted on the email and they are go with it.
Microsoft Entra ID is less appropriate in companies which are smaller in size and very less peoples and doesn't have a proper resources inventories.
