Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Office 365

Office 365 is used by all our staff across all our locations. Regarding the business problems it addresses: It provides us with the ability to hot desk and log in remotely from home or other office locations. It provides us with some business continuity / disaster recovery options. Office 365 is easy to use and commonly used now across many businesses. It allows us to utilise our existing leased line (connectivity)
  • Document management
  • Hot Desk
  • Business Continuity
  • Share best practices
  • Relying on network and bandwidth. If your Internet provider goes down - This only applies to our smaller and remote sites. We have a leased line at HQ
  • Having data controlled by someone other than your employees
  • Password Resetting
  • On site server cost reduction
  • increased software licence costs is a disadvantage
  • Eliminates other document storage costs and implications
It's different. Oracle is used by big corporate clients where the security of the financial data is paramount. Manhattan was a more specific property management system and Office 365 didn't appear to have a natural fit. Business Objects is a reporting tool designed to sit over multiple databases. Office 365 reporting appears to stack up quite well. Office 365 isn't a good fit for Salesforce, this would be a more Microsoft Dynamics fit
It's great if you don't want the headache of installing, managing and upgrading what can be complicated systems. It provides additional IT security and is backed up by Microsoft Tier 1 Data Centres. It's less well suited for companies with poor internet connectivity.
