Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use it for teaching and running seminars. It started with the pandemic and now we still use it for running some seminars as it is more effective in collaborative learning for large cohorts. It is very effective in creating a virtual interactive learning environment that is accessible to all students.
  • Collaboration
  • Reflection
  • Annotation and mind maps
  • Managing large cohorts (100+ students)
  • Better navigation gestures
  • Improved engagement
  • Students reached learning goals
Implementing Miro helped students come to grips with the learning outcomes and achieve them. I have personally used it to help students investigate different precedent studies in real-time, which helped collaborative learning and reflection. Moreover, the annotation helped students understand their shortcomings and help them aim to stand out.
Here are some pros and cons of using it for teaching.
Pros:
-Greate for effective collaborative learning that facilitates online engagement
-Amazing to help students contrast and reflect on their level in comparison to their peers
-Helpful to get students to express creativity in mediums outside verbal communications; great for anxious students.
Cons:
-Takes away from the face-to-face experience.
-Does not help students practice verbal presentations - students in architecture for example, need to grow the ability to present to clients.

Accessible for all
Not amongst staff, but between staff and students.

In teaching architecture, students need to research president studies and analyse them. Miro helped with creating boards to encourage the collaborative learning and annotation. The live cursors helps create an informal space that encourages them to interact with each other and with the task in hand. The pen tool also helps with creating this informal space.
