Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We started using Miro during the pandemic to collaborate online visually. We would use it for brainstorming sessions, using post-its and organization tools. It allowed a large team to easily share a lot of data, visually, very quickly, and get into the collaboration aspects of the meeting that much faster. The ability to quickly zoom in and out allows you to move across lots of data efficiently, so you don't lose track of things. As a collaboration tool, it allows the team to share feedback quickly and all at the same time. It's a powerful tool with a lot of capabilities. I still feel like I'm in the early stages of learning to use it at full capacity, but it's easy enough to learn as you go and pick things up along the way.
Pros
- Zoom in and out quickly
- Seeing live activity occurring simultaneously on the board
- Ability to embed things like links to videos you'd like to share
Cons
- With so many features, Miro has a bit of a learning curve. It may be helpful to develop some how-to videos.
- It seems like some of the tooltips don't pop-up.
- May be nice to be able to transition between boards via a dropdown menu.
- Brainstorming speed has increased, allowing the team to spend more time on discussion and less on content creation.
- Can accomplish significant shared work activities without having to have meetings. Immediate productivity gains and allows everyone to collaborate from anywhere on their own schedule.
We initially began using Miro during the pandemic, so everyone was remote. As we've expanded the size of our team, we've continued to leverage the tool. It's as easy as being in the same room.
