Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro as a means to work collaboratively with peers in a peer tutoring program. Miro primarily acts as a real-time digital whiteboard that is significantly better than Google's "Jamboard".

Pros

  • Hiding frame feature is invaluable
  • The shape and line tools are extensive
  • The writing dynamic feels and looks excellent

Cons

  • I think that the "object snap" feature is a little buggy. Even with it turned off, items on the board will still snap to the spot that I do not want.
  • I think it would be helpful to have a library of 3D shape representations.
  • Slack, discord and Google drive integration would be very helpful
  • The ability to adjust how much smoothing is done to draw lines would be great. Similar to how Adobe has that adjustment.
  • I think that Miro has opened up options in terms of the activities I can plan to do with my peers when tutoring them. This has the effect of better tutoring overall
Miro is relatively complicated so there is a slight learning curve when first implementing it. After that though, it is quite useful and intuitive.
I just told my peers that we are using Miro instead of Jamboard and helped them set it all up.
I think that it is just a better tool to collaborate remotely. It does not make it more possible to collaborate remotely though.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is vastly better. Miro has more features, better tools, better support. Miro is just overall better suited to my application.
I have already recommended Miro to numerous people throughout my university. I think it would be very well suited for facilitating online learning in a more natural way. It would essentially replace the classroom chalkboard and would have the ability to integrate helpful learning tools directly into the class content.
