Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have used Miro over the past few years as our source of truth for engineering problem solving, diagramming, documentation & brainstorming sessions.

Cons

Arrows snapping to multiple points on the same object face would be useful, rather than just the middle. In large diagrams, it can be hard to see where multiple arrows converge & have different arrowheads on them.

Return on Investment

Costs are difficult to justify to finance team(s)

Implementation Rating

The UI makes it easy to onboard people. It basically is a neat WYSIWYG editor, quickly easy to ramp up knowledge and copy/paste data between apps into Miro.

Yes - I have introduced Miro to all the engineering teams that I have worked with/in and for over the past few years. We use it as a source of truth - diagrams, IMHO are much easier to digest than walls of text :). The comment feature makes it easy for us to discuss certain areas/points.

Alternatives Considered

draw.io and Microsoft Visio

UI is more fluid in Miro. The price point is hard to justify against, for example, draw.io - but compared to Visio, Surface kit (MS whiteboard) & Jamboard hardware it's an easier sell.

Likelihood to Recommend

Within engineering we diagram and document often - Miro's app & web app are easy to use, making it easy to onboard people to use it and provide sufficient tools for us to be able to diagram 99% of our situations.
