Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Miro is the place to go to track project progress and research documentation & synthesis. Miro is used to capture and transcribing user interviews and action items with the kanban board, custom templates to prioritize and estimate work effort and time and finally to work indirectly with Jira to backtrack the efforts of and when necessary.
  • Kanban board
  • Mindmaps
  • File imports
  • Template Sharing
  • Tables and resizing
  • Judgment of text and scale...the sticky notes turn out to be small when used later in the synthesis
  • Wireframing items can be expanded to other things(eg drop-down states, check boxes, etc)
  • Guest view for intermediate short term stakeholder sign offs
  • Increase in design credibility due to Miro's documentation features
  • Convenient backtracking on kanban
  • 1 board 1 project system helps organize projects.....a folded system would be helpful though
The interface is clean, but I always get tricked with the scale. I only understand the true scale when I use a sticky note as that is the one that comes in standard default size. Text point sizes are relative and most of the time I start a board with a screenshot. So I am off the scale 80 percent of the times
I haven't integrated much...I've used it on teams and it works well but the usage is limited as the stakeholders don't access it because of the whole licenses thing. Would be exploring Jira integration, if it doesn't exist then will be looking forward to that integration. Apart from that I avoid using too many tools as maintaining them becomes an overhead😅
It has helped keep us in check and work across geography and timezones. While the design in the org is growing, we will be looking forward to setting up pipelines for truly collaborative work. As of now, the collaboration happens to gather feedback from fellow designers in the org and brainstorm at times

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

While Miro has a wide set of research synthesis-oriented tools, Figma is relatively simple But FigJam is free to a limited scope which helps folks to adopt it when in small teams getting an advantage on the learning curve. Miro makes it difficult for small team collaboration and gains the learning curve on the freemium model
Miro is suited for workshops or tracking projects and timelines(order of synthesis). It works best in big teams but for individuals, it is a great tool to document design progress and decision-making. It becomes a bit difficult in very big organizations where the signoffs are required by stakeholders who aren't really designers and may use a board for probably 1 hour if needed, but Miro asks for licenses so the process is pretty cumbersome. I sometimes just copy-paste screenshots....although too much back and forth, it's still better than going to the leadership requesting license and access every time a new project and a new stakeholder has to be involved
