Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We used Miro as part of a weeks-long workshop aimed at revamping our project management practices. Considering we had people joining remotely from multiple locations, we wanted a solution that would allow everyone to contribute in real time just like they would if they were all in person in the same room. Miro offered a variety of solutions/features to help us do that: brainstorming, sticky notes, checklists, etc. all digital just as if we were using a "real" physical whiteboard.

Pros

  • Customization: you can choose to display names or note, track cursors or not, etc.
  • Real time contributions from a high number of users
  • Structure, thanks to tools such as checklists

Cons

  • Miro has A LOT of tools which is great, but sometimes confusing
  • A lot of options are there but hidden in some sub-menus, would be great to have a clear list somewhere or a powerful search function
  • Does require a bit of learning time to use all capabilites
  • Improved engagement: everyone loved a Miro workshop!
  • Reduced need for resources: all you need is wi-fi and your workshop is on
  • Trackable results: once workshop is done all we have to do is go back to our Miro projects to get action items
It allowed us to carry on a project that would not have been possible considering present-day office limitations: our team members now work all over the country and it would have been almost impossible and/or very costly to get everyone in the same room.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Definitely better: more customization option and capabilities.
Miro is well suited when you want people to contribute to a project remotely, or when you need a high number of participants on the same task. This is also great to save resources (both papers, suppliers, etc. but also meeting rooms that are tough to get). It's also a great way to carry out a workshop with a fun, engaging tool.

I would say Miro is less suited when your projects requiresa lot of numbers/calculations/formulas.
