Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Have predominantly been using Miro to conduct Business requirements gathering for business dashboards that are needed. Miro certainly helps in capturing the business questions that lead to what they want to see on the first landing page and the kind of data drill downs they want. Some of the inbuilt templates are really useful and provide a good starting point for ideation and brain storming

Pros and Cons

Pros

Sticky notes are really easy to use and the drag n drops really work well
Linking the overall flow of the idea is very smooth and easy
Some of the inbuilt templates provide an excellent skeleton structure before going to unplanned workshops as well
Bringing everyone on a single point on the board with just a click really helps when people are lost

Cons

Sometimes it is difficult to share the boards across teams especially when it is password protected. Have to remove passwords just to make sharing work

Return on Investment

It has really helped in designing the dashboard wireframes as the next step from ideation
Cross functional team are able to align themselves to the business value stream when working through Miro boards

Implementation Rating

For us the next implementation steps were Wireframing and taking them back to the business for signoff. Miro boards and how ideation was captured really helped to design and develop the guided dashboard products

Collaboration

It has really worked wonders especially in this hybrid mode of working when half the team is on a conf call and the rest in a meeting room. It has removed the shackles so that everyone is actively using the sticky notes and participating in the process

These days with hybrid models of work arrangements Miro has really helped when sharing ideas where half the team is WFH and the rest in a meeting room. Visualisation has certainly improved especially when team members are actively participating by moving around sticky notes. When discussions become too technical that's where we rely on excel snapshots etc as the board might not work with formulas etc
