Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Miro a good collaboration tool. We follow the Scaled Agile Framework and effectively use this tool for PI and sprint planning. We have team members from different geographical locations, so it was a challenge for all the team members to meet for the PI planning physically. Miro solved this biggest challenge; all the team members connected virtually in real time and collaborated well on the planning. The benefits were maximized during the pandemic.

Pros

  • The Miro board works well. Sometimes, more than 200 users updated the board simultaneously but never faced lagging or synchronization issues.
  • The recently emojis is a cool option.
  • Restore from history works well. It helped me in critical times when the user(s) erased/modified the data unknowingly.

Cons

  • Excel/Spreadsheet or table synchronization needs improvement. It fails to sync many times.
  • UI is fantastic, but there is scope for enhancements; for example, the clone option can be more friendly.
  • Yes productivity is improved through efficient PI planning.
  • We use Miro to track the dependencies and feature completion. All the stakeholders and leadership team can quickly look at the PI planning board and understand the progress.
I was not involved in Integration.
We have teams from different geographical locations and time zones. Miro is the tool we have been using since our first PI for our PI planning, and it is very effective.

I use Miro for Planning - PI planning and sprint planning, and from my personal experience, I can say this is the best tool for virtual (remote) planning. It is not best suitable for sprint execution. For example, once the planning is done, we add the stories to Jira for tracking. I suggest Miro provide a solution for this so that Miro can be used for planning and execution. We use Miro to track the dependencies, but stories are tracked in Jira.
