Overall Satisfaction with Miro

mostly, i use Miro for 4 things
1) gathering info ( brainstorm sessions moderation, research activities, hackathons, MVP creation and testing, feedback collection)
2) project library ( planning, insights, canvas and templates, calendar, etc)
3) collaboration space - sprint reviews, strategic sessions facilitation, team activities (icebreakers, entertainment sessions, etc)
4) support of educational activities - workshops, French cafe, multiple group co-creation space

Pros

  • collaboration tool for groups of different size
  • navigation
  • ready to use templates
  • blank canvas to create something of your own

Cons

  • creation of steaky notes on a click ( as it was available before)
  • zooming presets ( adding a new item to the board to be in line with existing objects)
  • pasting options - to be able to choose paste as excel of as steaky notes, for example
  • improved team productivity
  • shorten new team members onboarding to 1 week ( from average of 20 days)
  • grow collaboration dynamics during research sessions
  • allowed to openly share unpopular thoughts and boost discussions around them
Miro has heavily impacted to unite our remote teams and multiple locations during covid and after providing a common space to collaborate.
It also helped us to bring people across organization to participate in projects, get inspired by each other and contribute to new developments no matter where employee located. It also saved us time and recourses to prep for different meeting ( both online and offline) and supports knowledge management.

when to use Miro :
1) online group collaboration boost need
2) need to use created materials later( analyze, return to refresh, distribute to lager groups)
3) bring gamification - voting, planning poker, music, timer
4) creative sessions facilitation
not recommended to use Miro
1) no stable internet access
2) without intro on how to use the tool
3) with only from phone access
