Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We use Miro to support our decision process regarding digital transformation solutions. It is an useful tool to foster collaboration.
Pros
- Intuitive interface. It is easy to have new users collaborating on the board.
- Complete set of tools. The voting and planning poker tools are very useful.
- A lot of available and useful templates.
Cons
- The planning poker could have an easier integration with Jira (and similar) and the possibility to customize the number and text of the options.
- Many users enter the board without registering to Miro (wich is very useful so we don't have a barrier for them to collaborate) but they enter with a random name so it is difficult to see how each one is collaborating. We could have an option to choose a name when we enter without logging in.
- The voting toll is useful but could be easier use. Sometimes the voting prompt disappears and we don't know how to resume voting. Also it is difficult do group votes with post-its that belong to the same group.
- Improved meeting productivity
- Useful in creating a democratic environment so shy people can expresse their ideas and increase opinion diversity. This helps the business to get rid of biases.
- Enabled collaboration in a home-office scenario.
We used to have design thinking sessions with everyone in the same physical room and with real post-its. The pandemic suddenly forced everyone to work from home and using virtual boards was mandatory. When we started using this kind of virtual tool, we realized that it increased meeting productivity and it was easier to apply it to a broader range of situations such as preserving collaborative knowledge and small groups brainstorming.
