Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro for a range of brainstorms from idea generation to content development. It works efficiently and effectively with every use-case we apply it to given the free-flowing nature of the platform.Use cases it works particularly well for include:
- Synthesising complex data and insight into a singular, coherent narrative.
- Brainstorms around potential product innovations and names
- Problem-space exploration
- Innovation opportunity generation (ideation, clustering, and prioritising)

Pros

  • Brainstorming
  • Idea Generation
  • Prioritisation and planning
  • Clustering of thoughts
  • Shareability - Easily shareable across teams within my business

Cons

  • Slow
  • No down-facing arrows in the icons setup
  • Sometimes the scale can be off on objects
  • Startup and onboarding - it is difficult to get people quickly up to speed on the tool
  • More ideas
  • Quicker ideas
  • better ideas
  • Greater collaboration
  • Greater overall project output in terms of quality
  • More efficient brainstorms and discussions
We have collaborated better across global offices and teams as a result of Miro. It has improved both our synchronous and asynchronous collaboration. In synchronous collaboration, it has really helped us to effectively communicate our core intentions and thoughts on potential decisions as we work because it is so simple and easy to use. In asynchronous collaboration, it has allowed us to develop clearer and richer ideas that allow us to continuously pop in and out of Miro boards to add thoughts as and when they arrive - a particularly valuable feature given the nature of ideas coming whenever the moment of inspiration strikes!

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Ultimately, Miro is best suited for the earlier stages of a project process, such as the collection of data and insight for brainstorming and idea generation. This usefulness is built out of the tools ability to quickly manipulate post-it's of information and add in new thoughts, ideas and inspiration (be the inspiration visual, or verbal).

Miro is less useful for sharing content and thinking with clients. The output is not visually attractive or well presented enough to be easy to immediately follow without a heavy narrative overlay. However, that may just be me hitting the limits of my ability in using the tool!
