Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Miro is a great collaboration tool. I use it to facilitate brainstorming sessions and to organize the output of these sessions. You can input a great amount of stimulus and create spaces or templates for participants to use to brainstorm. Its easy for new participants to learn how to add sticky notes and to vote on ideas. After the brainstorming I can move the notes around to group similar ideas.

Pros

  • Input images and other file types to create a rich & visually pleasing environment to play with.
  • Easy & intuitive for newcomers to learn how to add & manipulate items
  • Great for collaboration. Multiple users can add ideas, manipulate items, vote etc. simultaneously

Cons

  • A brainstorming session on Miro can quickly get messy & cluttered. Some of the solutions they have are a search function and the ability to cut & paste multiple notes into Excel at once. Despite this the grouping & organizing of ideas requires a lot of manual work.
  • If you forget to lock items participants WILL ALWAYS end up moving things they shouldn't
  • It takes some effort to input images and files. Its easy once you've learned but it does take time for new users.
  • It would be amazing if Miro could take a whole Powerpoint presentation and input the individual slides automatically. Apologies if there is a way to do this.
  • I work with people who are based all over the world. Miro enables remote collaboration which saves on travel costs.
  • A traditional pre-covid brainstorming session would be in a large conference room with large papers all over the walls, stacks of post-it notes, and piles of markers. A Miro brainstorming session requires none of these things.
Miro is great for virtual collaboration. There is no need for travel which saves money and folks who couldn't travel (for whatever reason) can still participate. There is no need for office supplies such as large papers, post-it notes, markers, easels, etc.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

I was not the one who selected Miro. I have seen similar products such as Mural and they seem to have similar capabilities. I'm perfectly happy with Miro.
My most common use for Miro is brainstorming sessions. Its great for collaboration with stimulus, participants adding many sticky notes with various ideas, people voting on ideas, grouping similar ideas together, etc. I have seen it used for training sessions where collaboration is included. It may not be suited for formal presentations.
