Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro to "white board" given our organization is over 75% remote. We use the sticky notes to collaborate and cluster to prioritize and find patterns and big themes. We also use Miro to roadmap to align stakeholders and manage expectations. We use Miro to tell the story about digital development and ground our projects and outcomes using the vast variety of pre-made templates and config as we go.

Pros

  • Allows a presenter to explain a concept quickly with a few utilities like sticky notes, shapes and arrows
  • Color codes on a digital white board to represent teams or people to have all voices "heard" / represented during a collaboration session
  • Zoom in and out to capture months worth of work in one space allowing you to easily move from various sections and revisit without hopping from tabs or various files

Cons

  • Free vs. paid licenses - our IT department makes it hard for our associates to gain access so people are left unable to participate because they have to ask for a license and sit in an IT black hole
  • Admittedly I am a creature of habit and don't totally understand what Miro offers and what all the symbols mean - perhaps a way to use tutorials or have more help understanding in my flow that something could be helping me or save me time would be interesting. AI predicts what I'm trying to do?
  • I have various sections on my board, all different fonts. I don't know how that happened or if I can make everything sync up so it's legible as I cruise through without zooming out and in but that would be nice.
  • Positive impact - we've been able to reduce the time it takes to arrive at MVP, crawl, walk, run requirements and turn them over sooner
  • Roadmapping and seeing at a high level what the roadblocks or risks will be 3, 6, 9 months ahead of time has allowed us to be more planful and mitigate tech debt. IT is informed earlier to resource or stand up workstreams sooner and be less reactive.
  • Customer Journey mapping - until Miro there wasn't any real documented or consistent ways to show and agree and document our CJ's. It forced some behaviors within our organization and transparency to come to the surface - saving us all time and money on where we spend our dollars.
Yes, 100%. Even with free licenses - teams view the board and can weigh in on what they see but we find a paid license gets them involved. Interacting with the board and adding ideas to it or risks really increases their engagement.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is super appropriate to customer journey map, show points of friction or smooth sailing, create a roadmap for actions and owners and overlap or parallel pathing of projects - to show what risks or "jams" may occur when various leaders come together with their inputs and timelines and team gets to see things in one, universal place.

Miro is less appropriate I suppose for use as an actual project management tool, like ticketing or kanban or a way to execute the work. It's really for vision, collaboration, planning, designing.
