Overall Satisfaction with Miro
I utilize Miro in the classroom. I use a tablet to mirror my tablet onto a smart TV. Using Miro, I load the multiple PDF files I utilize for different subject areas and units within one single board. I am also able to have digital resources including links for digital math manipulatives included right there on the board. For students, it is super helpful to be able to have the option to force them to "follow" where the teacher is on the board.
Pros
- Miro can include multiple PDF files directly from Google Drive. LOVE THIS!
- Miro can include links to other digital resources on the web.
- The quality maintained while zooming in is very impressive.
- You can extract pages from PDF files as jpegs directly on the Miro board.
- Usability with a tablet and stylus is perfect for "writing" on documents as a presentation.
- Miro boards can be shared with students.
- Love the compatibility with Google platforms.
Cons
- I wish that when you page through imported PDFs on a board, that it saves the page you were on last. I have to write page numbers down and then find the new pages every day. This is not efficient.
- I wish the eraser and pen were different icons. I should be able to see both at the same time. You have to click-in to the pen fucntion to get to the eraser or vise versa. Theres just extra steps.
- I finally figured out how to rotate PDF files but it doesn't always like to play nice. Fuctionality could be more intuitive.
- Improved comprehension of all members.
- Visual componenets and interactive during presentations.
- Boards can be interactive for teams of users.
- Educational cost for approved teachers is fantastic. Thank you so much!
- One of the best features is that you can include all the different digital components for a unit/concept/presentation all in one place.
Online learning for students at home or on trips is possible.
