Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Miro to us is the next level planning and design collaboration tool. We use it to host product strategy planning and brainstorming across the globe. I believe humans are visual interpreters, especially across culture and language barrier. Miro allows my team to pre-populate certain discussion topics with visual guides and assets to help bring everyone's understanding to the next level.

Pros

  • multi-media layout space
  • document parking spot
  • stickie comments that can be supplemented with images and arrows

Cons

  • loading speed
  • better presentation mode
  • mobile to browser integration. I need to use my phone to take pictures and post on Miro, however right now it's kind of cumbersome.
  • I have not really evaluated this, I think the biggest return on investment is probably justifying the purchase of Microsoft surface hub. For a long time the surface hub was just being used as a TV, Miro allowed us to actually use it in a productive manner.
  • The ability to bring everyone together in an interactive manner is also great. It allows more productivity without being there in person.
Miro grew very quickly within Stryker during COVID and that is probably the true testament of how useful it is. However, we never mandated Miro to be used as collaboration tool so the real potential is yet to be seen.
Bluescape require a hardware plug in, which our IT was not happy with.

Mural was used by other teams, but never gained momentum

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is less appropriate for formal documentations, as it can get hard to manage if everyone is pitching in and alternating their contributions over time with out easy record.

Miro is also less appropriate if the result of a discussion needs to be printed or passed on in physical form (poster, presentation board etc)
