Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro to gather ideas from multiple contributors in one place and guide thinking in a constructive way when tackling complex conversations in a limited amount of time. I work remotely so Miro is vital tool in my toolkit when planning interactive meetings.

Pros

  • Easy to use functionality, particularly for people who are not familiar with the software
  • Great drag-and-drop templates for all kinds of business needs
  • Aesthetically pleasing colors and layout

Cons

  • Sharing links to boards can be tricky, especially with dealing with free or low-tier membership
  • The presentation feature lacks some of the functionality of PowerPoint or Slides
  • It would be nice to have the ability to embed videos or embed Spotify for when you want some background music for independent brainstorming
  • Improved consensus building on project proposals
  • Improved participation in webinars
I really enjoy using Miro with remote teams. This is especially true when working with people that have not met or worked closely together, since the structured format and ability have heads-down time on the board before diving into conversation can help people feel more comfortable contributing. It also serves a useful artifact of the conversation that everyone can come back to.
Miro is much better from a design and UX standpoint. The tools are easier to use and more aesthetically pleasing. There is also additional functionality like recording a walkthrough of the board or presenting it via frames. This makes the Miro tool much more versatile and keeps you from having to use a bunch of different tools (i.e. Whiteboard, PowerPoint, Stream) to achieve your goal.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Well-suited: Remote design meetings; asynchronous videos explaining a board; consensus-building around next steps or retros; journey-mapping for users or other types of process mapping

In my experience, Miro is less useful for in-person meetings or hybrid meetings where some people are co-located. I've also not found it as useful for remote team-building activities, although there are some useful templates for that which could be good if facilitated well.
