Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro for nearly every conversation...
- In some departments we use it as a work manager in 1:1 supervisor, employee conversations. Sticky Notes are used for assigning and tracking work, like a Trello board, but with many more features and flexibility.
- We absolutely utilize it when meeting with both large groups of people and even 1:1 to map complex and simple processes. By using Miro, we have been able to set a standard for Six Sigma process management to be used throughout our organization.

Pros

  • Ability to process map on the fly during a conversation
  • Allows for a great collaboration platform
  • Color Themes are very helpful in bringing a cohesive look to the mapping/comments/discussions.

Cons

  • Previously, to go into full-screen mode, the button was at the bottom right; with one of the builds, that moved to where you have to go to the zoom% and then click on "enter full screen". Would love to have the full screen button back.
  • A video created by the Miro team on all hot key functionality. I found the image, but a video would be great!
  • Ability to insert a new process box from the connector lines, between two existing process boxes. Maybe you already have a hot key for this in which I am unaware.
  • Process teams across our division speak the same language... this is hugely helpful!
  • Miro crosses language barriers! Working in a multi-cultural/multi-linguistic environment, having the ability to put maps/visuals in place helps create unity of understanding. A picture speaks a 1000 words... this is a great collaboration tool to understand difficult process challenges.
  • We document the As-Is and the To-Be processes... it is extremely helpful to put them side by side for comparison of process and time analysis for changes we want to make.
I wish we had received tutorials when the tool was rolled out. Learned through Youtube videos, but would have loved it if the roll-out had included recommended resources.

Our manager has since then created some fantastic, short videos consolidating quite a bit of information into small bites that our team can utilize in our everyday processes; he contextualized the tool for us.
We have integrated Miro fairly well, but as mentioned in the previous notation, it could have been so much better if our deployment team would have sent resources out vs having us figure it out on our own. About 9 months ago, Miro came out with a number of training videos... those were extremely helpful - but that was a good while after deployment!
Mentioned this previously, but Miro has been a fantastic tool for our international company for group analysis, process mapping, trying to untangle unclear processes, identify areas of waste, and our boss is known all over our company as the Miro expert.

While using Miro, it does not matter if you are not a mapping expert, the system is easy to learn and makes the collaboration easy with multiple languages and cultures.

Signavio feels rigid and more difficult to learn - Miro is more user-friendly.

Microsoft Visio - this was a very easy tool to use and loved the hot keys to create objects on the fly. Miro is also easy, but maybe I just have more to learn about hot keys and incorporate those into my mapping skills.

Cost for Visio or Signavio makes it prohibitive to use with a fairly large organization or even small business owners... they are expensive. Thank you for making Miro usable for everyone!

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

- Miro is well suited to do intake from a large crowd... lets say you have 4 processes in big blocks, we are able to take 20-25 people on a call and everyone is able to jump in and share pain points or benefits they are finding in the current process. This is really valuable input.
- We can also take a smaller group of 8-10 and map the process together, this way we get a more comprehensive view of the process... the tool makes it easy to make changes on the fly and keeps the audience engaged - remote or in the same room.
