Overall Satisfaction with Miro

As a solution architect I use Miro mainly to design software architecture, workflows and integrations. The cool thing about doing this in a shared organization is that I can see solutions from other SAs across the world and their customers, to get inspiration. Sometimes I also use Miro to engage with the product team on journey mapping and solution designs for product releases.

Pros

  • Easy to create software diagrams and flows
  • Has integrations with AWS to use their symbols when creating the architecture
  • Helps cross team and cross organization interaction with async work

Cons

  • The main area of improvement for me is a way to make a line "jump" the other line. This is painful to do in miro
  • Reduced project completion time
  • Improved productivity
Working in a global company, our teams span multiple time zones, requiring asynchronous collaboration. Miro's online whiteboard has been instrumental in bridging this gap. It enables team members to contribute to projects in real-time or asynchronously, ensuring no one is left out of critical discussions. For example, during solution design, team members from different regions can add their insights, questions and overall feedback.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is well suited for solution Design Workshops (mapping software architectures, APIs, and data flows during discovery phases ensures alignment between business and technical teams) and for customer journey mapping (visualizing buyer paths and pain points helps identify opportunities for optimization and new feature development)

I think its not well suited for heavy documentation or a to-do list in general
