Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro as a scrum master to organize team agreements and information as well as retrospectives and gathering feedback. In the org, we also use it for tech diagrams and various other developer uses. There are other departments that use Miro or similar for other uses I am not privy to.

Pros

  • New features are well communicated.
  • Miroverse is very helpful when I am not sure how I want to craft my diagrams.
  • Collaborating in real time with remote peers.

Cons

  • Occasionally Miro slows my other apps and causes lags in video calls.
  • Voting area takes some time to set up and can feel awkward. Also should not include blank sticky notes as a default.
  • This may be user error, but locking and grouping can feel quite tedius when you need to make updates or copy a frame.
  • Miro helps connect people
  • Creates a shared understanding of goals visually
  • Helps us understand when our goals are reasonable or not based on the visualization
Want to integrate with Gitlab and Google Suite.
We have been remote for the duration of my Miro experience. I am not sure.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

For the uses I have described as a scrum master, Miro is great! It is very easy to throw something together quickly for planning or retros.
Miro is not useful for making timelines that need to be edited regularly or shared on another app. It would be awesome to be able to visualize when changes are made - like a due date or start date so we can also share what changed and why we have updated it.
