We love monday.com and it has been a game changer for us

Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

  • Streamlined project setup times.
  • Simplified our suite of tools we use as a business which cut overheads.
  • Made it easier for clients to see at a glance where things are at.
We use monday.com in a variety of ways - from managing sales pipeline bookings, financial forecasting projects and employee management functions, such as time zones, availability, projects assigned, etc. All the way across to client communications and to act as a project management tool for clients, our own events and to gather data from prospects through to client onboarding. I also 'share' a lot of our systems with my clients and students and monday.com makes doing so a dream.

Pros

  • Ability to have private exec team only boards.
  • Ability to adjust boards to the functionality we want.
  • Ability to manage events and data gathering through forms being filled in and sent direct into the boards.

Cons

  • Would love for clients to be able to get sent a copy of the forms when they fill them in... this is a major issue for us when we recommend monday.com as it has the ability to eliminate tools such as JotForm but can't because of that simple functionality.
  • Use cases - because monday.com does so much, as a marketer one of their biggest issues that I see time and time again and that impacts on being able to bring clients over easily to the software is that they just don't clearly showcase enough all the use cases.
  • We'd love to be able to set rules such as when forms are filled in, they detect the email address or 'name' and move the row automatically into a different group and change the status bar.
monday.com is great but I'd love to have more specific to each niche use cases to help me speed up finding other ways to apply monday.com - specifically when you are looking at team sizes as well.
They have been a 10 out of 10 for me for so long but there was a blip where urgent things came back slowly for a period although I think that's resolved but we haven't needed to reach out much recently so not 100% sure hence not being a 10.
The only bug bear for me is that automations can be a little naughty sometimes and a tad buggy but we've never had any major issues with outages or downtime to cause problems or disruption to the business.

Any online coaches, consultants or digital marketing agencies who are managing events, done for you client services or done with you products are where monday.com shines. It is great for even managing podcast scheduling and I can also see applications for where e-commerce can connect in. For me where it is not a great fit YET for those who are wanting to use it for at a glance calendar management (the views are limited here) as it can't beat my good old paper year view calendar pinned on the wall. The views want to dive too far in for me and that has a knock on effect where when we tried to use it as a place for planning social media/ content topic themes it became a bit clunky and hard. The crazy thing is that this is just down to view limitations and not the software overall.

In general, we love monday.com and we managed to ditch 13 bits of tech when we moved over to it, which is great and it can do a whole load of things that sometimes, you just need to sit down and really think about in terms of the logic to set it up... the problem can be having the time to do it and specific in depth case studies for each area would fix this.
