Overall Satisfaction with Monster.com

As a job posting site and resume database that assists in filling vacancies, Monster helps us quickly post job postings on the Internet and fill our vacancies quickly. However, the scope of use and effectiveness of Monster have steadily declined in the years since it was acquired by a staffing firm.

Pros

  • Publish posting.
  • Search engine.
  • Interface

Cons

  • Resume database.
  • Reach
  • Marketing
  • Promoting our brand.
  • Filling vacancies.
  • Reducing cost of hire.
In the nearly 10 years since Randstad acquired Monster, it has steadily declined in relevance to both candidates and employers. As previously mentioned, it does not appear that Randstad spends much, if anything, on marketing the platform or updating its usability, which is unfortunate, as Monster used to be the go-to place for candidates.
It is the least effective tool we use. It's steadily declined in relevance in the marketplace which means that not only do less candidates know about Monster, but also fewer employers known about the platform. I think Indeed has largely taken over Monster's position in the marketplace, which is a shame because I hate Ineed's business model.

Do you think Monster.com delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Monster.com's feature set?

No

Did Monster.com live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Monster.com go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Monster.com again?

No

Depending on your industry, you may find candidates in their database, particularly more senior candidates. Younger candidates aren't as aware of Monster. It doesn't seem like the parent company that purchased Monster a few years ago spends much on marketing.
