Overall Satisfaction with MS SharePoint

SharePoint is being used across the organization for uses such as document libraries, communicating business-wide information, and individual sites for project offices and teams. It helps with communication in a large organization with the customization it offers.

  • Upload capabilities
  • Version controls
  • Search ability is lacking
  • The need to tag documents to find them as a group
  • Small pool of customer service people
  • Need for staff to be trained in order to fix problems vs. traditional IT
  • Cheaper than similar PM alternate software
  • Easy to explain to people who can then teach others
  • Basically a single tool that combines what many individual tools could offer into one single platform
Similar to my ROI section, SharePoint combines what many individual platforms do. It’s much easier to have one system that is streamlined than uploading to multiple places and sites.
Suited for large organizations with need for communications that is large scale. Not as good for databases and places where searchability through large sets of files is key to success.
