Overall Satisfaction with NetSuite ERP

We use NetSuite for all aspects of our Business except for HR, payroll, and Marketing. We use NetSuite ERP for Order capture, both through the UI and via SCA. We utilize NS for our comprehensive financial controls and as the source of truth. We use NS for Automation of our custom products, with workflows, Matrix items, and using Extendtech (partner), we can automate a complicated special order process. We use NetSuite to streamline our Warehouse operations with the WMS module and use SmartCount to perform real-time inventory counts.

Pros

  • Multi-Subsidiary Accounting.
  • Order to Cash Management.
  • Multi-Currency Accounting.

Cons

  • The CRM module is not user-friendly, and its workflows are cumbersome.
  • The Advanced Analytics module (workbooks) is not user-friendly.
  • Marketing campaigns can be challenging to administer within the system.
  • We have lowered error rates in Warehouse (lower returns) with the WMS module.
  • We lowered AP labor by 50% with AP Automation.
NetSuite needs some development in the Marketing and Sales areas; it has the basic functions, but lacks luster compared to HubSpot or Salesforce, which is why they currently integrate with them. NetSuite system performance (Speed) can be an issue depending on your platform level and customizations, which can be frustrating for customers.
Netsuite offers as much, if not more, than the competitors. The price modules can vary, and I find NetSuite's less transparent. However, we chose Netsuite for the investments they were making and the SCA web integration to ERP, not many have that function. The NetSuite/Oracle relationship and ability to leverage cloud and AI technology were a plus.

NetSuite is a comprehensive solution that can be configured as needed or through third-party applications. It is a robust platform; however, the costs of overhead can add up for SMB. With the new Oracle Redwood injection, the UI is getting a better, more modern look. The help tools are improving, and some AI assistants (LLMs) will make a significant difference for users.
