Overall Satisfaction with NetSuite ERP

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

NetSuite serves as a general ledger for our organization and a store of financial information. We are a high transaction volume business and many systems we explored or previously operated on were easily bogged down due to this. NetSuite was able to remediate the performance issue and allow us to operate more efficiently.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Searches are robust
Vast amount of customization
Many system have native integrations with NetSuite

Cons

Even the most basic systems within NetSuite required significant configuration and customization.
A dedicated NetSuite team is required to manage the platform effectively even with our basic needs(we do not use the built-in revenue rec, AP, AR, etc.)

Return on Investment

Positive - Native integrations made it easy for us to onboard new tools
Positive - Reporting and search capabilities are robust which makes it easy for us to customize our management reporting
Neutral - Coming from Quickbooks and Intacct there is a big learning curve so this needs to be accounted for during training
Negative - It took a significant amount of time and investment to update the system for our needs. Having a good implementation partner is critical to your success on the platform.

Alternatives Considered

Workday Financial Management, Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online and Infor Financials & Supply Management

NetSuite is much more customizable than Sage Intacct and Quickbooks but not as much as Workday Financials, Oracle or Infor Financials

NetSuite is well suited in the following situations:
1. You have an IT team or third-party partner able to support the application.
2. You have a lot of systems that can utilize the integration features
3. You have a medium to high transaction volume business.

NetSuite may not be the best fit for you if:
1. You have a small team with limited resources to customize the platform.
2. Licensing costs are significant if you want to use it as a true ERP with all employees provided access.
3. You want to rely on native platform functionality.
