Overall Satisfaction with Newswire

At PropLogix, Newswire is our wire distribution tool of choice, and we use the newsroom to share content on social and for our newsletter.

Pros

  • Autosave works really well, saves me a lot of time, or when I accidentally close out a window, I can always come back to it.
  • Overall the interface has always been a lot nicer and user-friendly, and they lay out distribution options nicely.
  • The reporting tool is simple and easy to read for sharing results with higher-ups.

Cons

  • I'd love to see more personalization or customization options in the newsroom feature. I'd love to link out to it from our site rather than hosting it on our own, but it's clear it's a third-party site, and there's no way to make it look more like it's branded for us.
  • In 2021 we increased our brand mentions by more than 500%
It is very dummy-proof. In the past, I had used PRNewswire and PRWeb before one bought the other, and it was clunky and a little confusing since I use them so infrequently. From the first time I used Newswire's platform, it was incredibly simple.
I feel like their distribution and pricing structure were a little more confusing, and the platforms were clunky. That said, I haven't used either of these other wire services in 5 years since I started exclusively using Newswire.

I know that they have a lot of features to help craft a comms strategy or just one-off release writing services, as well as pitching services, and I can't speak to the efficacy of those, as I've never utilized them.

If you are a younger company on a tight budget, I wouldn't recommend utilizing this wire service - there are cheaper options out there. If you a company with some resources and no one to manage your PR, I think this service would be ideal. As someone is more experienced with PR but just needs a really simple tool for sharing company news once in a while, it's been the perfect solution.
