Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Ooma Office for the entire law firm. The digital fax number included with each number and the ability to reroute calls to their app have been incredibly useful. The ability to use the virtual receptionist to route calls has proven more useful than originally expected now that most of the staff is working remotely.

Pros and Cons

The virtual receptionist.
Digital faxing.

The integration of the app is spotty.
The web portal constantly logs you off even when you select “keep me logged in.”
Setting up roll over ringing has been difficult and inconsistent.

Return on Investment

System made it one-stop shopping for fax lines and phones numbers and equipment which was convenient.
It was a shock to see that $39.98 of service manages to result in about $18 of additional “fees” every month. Makes the service significantly less of a bargain than is advertised.

Support Rating

Support has told me how to set the system to do certain things, and more than once we’d already set the system as instructed and still it wasn’t functioning as desired - support seemed a bit stumped when this happened.

I think it is well suited for a law office, though I think it would function for most businesses. Though I’d have to say that with the spotty roll over ringing a place with multiple phone lines that MUST ring from one main number, like a restaurant, may have issues with the system.

Functions mostly as promised but the hidden fees are substantial
