Overall Satisfaction with Parse.ly

Parse.ly is used to monitor day-to-day web traffic and understand which articles are performing best. Parse.ly is used by both editors and the analytics team. The primary business problems Parse.ly addresses are how particular pieces of content are performing and what referral sources drives the most traffic to certain articles.
  • Easy to use
  • Real-time
  • Less data than Google Analytics
  • Standard version does not have audience segments, such as subscribers
  • Understanding which areas of content to focus on
  • Showing which referral sources to focus on for driving traffic
Parse.ly is easier to use, especially for editors, than Google Analytics. It also shows more accurate engaged minutes metrics compared to Google Analytics. Lastly, it is easier to filter content by certain tags or categories.

But unlike Google Analytics, Parse.ly does not show custom audience segments, such as subscribers. It also does not show which events, such as clicks, occur on pages.
Our customer services reps have generally been responsive to our questions. Parse.ly is straightforward to use, so we have not needed much customer support. Overall, we don't have any complaints about customer support. One area to improve might be having more training videos for new employees to get up to speed on Parse.ly.

Do you think Parse.ly delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Parse.ly's feature set?

Yes

Did Parse.ly live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Parse.ly go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Parse.ly again?

Yes

Parse.ly is better than its competitors at monitoring day-to-day traffic. It is easier to use than Google Analytics and is the preferred analytics tool of most editors.

For deeper analyses our analytics team does, Parse.ly has more limited data. Parse.ly only shows visitors, views and minutes, but not who is reading content or what they do on a page.
