Overall Satisfaction with Paycor

Paycor is currently being used by our company to run biweekly payroll services. Our company has less than ten employees so it was difficult to find a service that had the features we were looking for while at the same time being cost friendly. Our consultant recommended Paycor and we have been satisfied so far.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Up and running in less than an hour
  • Consistent

Cons

  • Felt like I was getting a little nickled and dimed.
  • Had to pay for some services that other companies offer for free.
  • Sometimes felt like I was getting spammed from them.
  • Running payroll now saves probably about an hour every week now.
  • Probably also save a couple of hours at the end of year .
  • One less thing to have to think about.
Our HR and/or payroll team has saved 1-25 hours per month. - Payroll previously would have taken around 4 hours each month which can now be done in probably under 30 min. Additionally, we probably are able to save a little over 5 hours at the end of year tax filings that can now be done in also 30 min or so now.
This is probably by far the biggest advantage that Paycor has. I reviewed a handful of companies that were a couple of hundred dollars cheaper each year, however I wasn't as convinced that they would be as easy to use as Paycor's system. This uncertainty made Paycor an easy choice for us.
Zenefits seemed to have a little nicer system, but the prices were more than $1000 more which didn't make sense for a company under 10 employees. I was pretty tempted to use Gusto and would have saved a little $$ but Paycor had a lot more recommendations from people I know.
Really appreciated how user-friendly the service was. I was able to get everything up and running in under an hour and it seems like it works pretty consistently. I was a little disappointed that some of the services such as setup and yearly tax runs were additional charges, whereas other companies I looked at included this for free at a much lower overall cost.
