In my opinion, Beware the sales pitch
Overall Satisfaction with Paycor
We used Paycor as our HRIS and payroll systems. We have five legal entities that all use Paycor. In my opinion, it is absolutely horrible, we finally left them, and, in our experience, they couldn't even handle our cancellation effectively.
Pros
- Selling their product
- I think they are really good at giving different answers to the same question depending on who you ask
- In our experience, taking "tickets" and never resolving issues
Cons
- In our experience, implementation is poor. They did not listen to our needs, consequently, our system was never set up correctly, which resulted in years of workarounds
- In our experience, we were promised a customer service team who knew our set up and our industry. What we got was thrown into the international customer service pool - where you have to enter a "ticket" and never hear back.
- In my opinion, they appear to be only interested in selling, but not servicing
- We had to spend multiple hours on manual workarounds for tracking leaves of absence
- Payroll had to spend more time recording PTO manually because the system couldn't be programmed for our policies
- The recruiting module never worked correctly for us. In our experience, it wouldn't transfer information to the next module, so we manually tracked our applicants on an excel spreadsheeet
Our HR and/or payroll team is spending more time than we did previously due to Paycor. - In our experience, the system was never set up correctly from the beginning. When we tried to correct it through the customer service ticket system, we'd get different people every time - which led to different fixes which in turn broke other things. It was a revolving door of issues until we finally just gave up and created manual workarounds just to get payroll out the door. For example, we divested a company, and had to transfer employees from that company to a new company. We started six months before go live trying to work with Paycor to implement the new payroll. The new company had the exact same rules and policies as our other four companies. In our experience, despite persistent communication of our go live date, nothing was done until the first payroll was due to be run. In my opinion, one would think it would have been easy - copy/paste from a company that was already set up. It was not for us. We didn't even get our 403b file correct for three months.
In our experience, we were led to believe that Paycor was a superior product that was fully integrated. In my opinion, that was a lie.
