Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

Paylocity is used by our organization for recruiting, onboarding, HRM, time tracking, and payroll. It is used across the entire organization. We use Paylocity to post for jobs on Indeed, move recruits into onboarding, then roll them into payroll. We also use Paylocity to manage our biweekly payrolls and tax reporting and filings.

We have used Gusto, Paychex, ADP, and QuickBooks payroll. We chose Paylocity because we believed it would save us time and would be an amazing service. It is not a service--it is software with many glitches that costs us time and money. Beware what your sales rep sells you--often this is not what Paylocity can actually provide. We have had this issue many times.

Paylocity would be great for a single state employer with a small number of 40-hour-per-week employees. It does best with simple payrolls without a lot of variables. Paylocity is not intuitive to use and is very complicated if you have variable hour employees and a lot of different things going on. Multiple steps are needed for most processes and setup is difficult. Customer service is a nightmare, as reps I have spoken to have not had sufficient knowledge of the product and issues did not get resolved for long periods of time, if ever.
