Paylocity - What a disappointment

Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We are currently using Paylocity to process our payroll and track our benefits. We are paying for Time & Labor, HR, Benefits, Onboarding, etc. We have been trying for the past two years to use the Time & Labor module for timekeeping but it is awkward and doesn't work consistently. In trying to get it to work, I have worked with my implementation specialist two years ago and she was able to get the system up and running after many months. Once we started pushing it out to our managers, they hated it. We went back to our old system and put Paylocity timekeeping on the back burner. I tried to get it started again 6 months ago and couldn't get a specialist to contact me to save my life. I asked my account manager for assistance and all she could do is ask a million stupid questions and refused to escalate my case to a higher level. After months on e-mails going back and forth, I got a zoom meeting with a specialist, only to find that their system wasn't working and again I wait.
  • Process Payroll most of the time
  • Reporting
  • Transfer of data to third party vendors
  • Knowledgeable account specialists
  • Ability for customers to reach the proper department
  • Response times
  • Time & Attendance that works on tablets
  • For the most part payroll is calculated and paid properly
  • Errors have caused loss of valuable time researching and correcting ourselves
  • Poor communication and account manager responses have wasted our valuable resources
Negatively because we cannot get these processes to work properly. We left ADP and moved to Paylocity for this purpose but have never been able to get time tracking and scheduling implemented successfully.

The transfer of benefit data to our insurance carriers and 401(k) data to our third party vendor have saved quite a bit of time.

Do you think Paylocity delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Paylocity's feature set?

Yes

Did Paylocity live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Paylocity go as expected?

No

Would you buy Paylocity again?

Yes

Paylocity works well as a basic payroll service. They do not do well with a complex cost accounting platform and changes (as needed) are not handled in a timely manner. It usually takes 5-6 tries before errors are corrected properly.
