Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use it for all HRIS, so payroll, time and attendance, performance benefits, onboarding, and recruiting, we use it for everything. We actually switched from ADP because with Paylocity everything is all in one. We can order our background checks, we can do it onboarding right then and there. With ADP, we had to outsource everything, so that was our main goal for Paylocity. Was everything all in one.

Pros

  • Onboarding for sure. Onboarding is seamless. You create the packages and it comes automatically to you and it's your turn to do something. If something is incorrect, you send it back to the employee. It's very, very easy to take them from recruiting to onboarding the recruitment platform also very, very easy creating the workflows seamlessly. Easy. Payroll I don't really touch much on, but as I've heard it's very easy. Everything is pretty user-friendly so far.

Cons

  • Hard to use is definitely the workflows with the documents, document uploads, assigning a document to an employee for signature. It's a little confusing. Even our account manager was a little confused. That's another thing. The two account managers that we have had are kind of green in the area of Paylocity, so they don't really know how to assist us. They kind of outsource the question to other account managers and that's kind of something that we don't want. But everything other than that has been great so far.
  • Right now we're still fresh out of implementation. So right now we're still doing everything. We're still learning, we're still training. So I think within the next year, by next year we'll be fully seamless. As of right now, we're still in training so I can't really comment on this one.
A big one is community. The community feature is great. We post all HR announcements on there, everybody's birthdays that comes up there so the employees are commenting happy birthday to each other. There's also recognition for the anniversaries. All the anniversaries are on there. You can recognize somebody for doing great work so that everybody can see. It's a great employee engagement tool that we did not have previously. That the employees are loving,
Paylocity and ADP. We switched from ADP previously in a previous company I used Paychex and Kronos, but none of those are really great. Paychex was fine. It was just for a small company so they wouldn't be able to keep up with the amount of employees I have now ADP, I think their customer service is horrible. The product itself is not horrible, but you have to outsource everything for background checks, everything like that. So we switched from ADP for that reason, mostly because our customer service is horrible.

I believe found Paylocity at SHRM last year and we did a lot of product demos and everything seemed very user-friendly, everything all in one. Our implementation team was amazing. They were on call, his name was [...]. I don't know if he'll ever see this, but [...] was amazing. Every question we had, we hopped on a Zoom call. The customer service was just amazing. From the start to finish training was great. We had so many training sessions and yeah, it's really the implementation team that kept us around.

Do you think Paylocity delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Paylocity's feature set?

Yes

Did Paylocity live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Paylocity go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Paylocity again?

Yes

It makes sense to use Paylocity if you have a lot of employees with a lot of moving parts with recruiting and onboarding at my location, my company, it is just myself and my HR director. We're a team of two for 500 employees, so we needed something that was everything all in one. We didn't have to outsource anything. So that would be a great thing to use Paylocity for. If you have a small company with not a lot of moving parts, not many people on your payroll, and no recruiting really, I would not suggest Paylocity for that.
