Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

Paylocity is used as our payroll and employee record system. The system is easy to use and getting information in a usable format through the reporting system is simple.
We rely on the system to be the source for any types of censuses we need to complete or third-party reporting.

Pros

  • Reporting on employee data
  • Entering employee deductions
  • Processing payrolls
  • Managing and updating time sheets

Cons

  • Too many "canned" reports to choose from
  • Knowing what boxes to fill in to trigger data showing up in payroll
  • Having to click "see sensitive information" when I am in as an administrator and have access to everything
  • Good checks and balances in payroll processing
  • Flexibility with having multiple users able to be administrators
  • Timeliness of account manager responding to my emails and calls
We have a labor-intensive workforce who is not adept at using Paylocity in order to take advantage of the items noted here. We are lucky to have them be able to log in and view their paystubs.

Unfortunately, Paylocity was not set up properly when our company converted to it years ago so there are many things which are not in use, but I need to make them usable. Good news, our account manager, [...] has been very helpful working with me to figure things out. I am optimistic we can have it up and running as intended in the next few months.

  • Tracking time
  • Recording pay
  • Employee deduction management
  • Moving temporary staffers to the system
  • Managing our attendance points system
  • Being able to manage various state child support orders

  • Time off tracking - we don’t use the self-service yet!
They have gotten much quicker and better at responding to and understanding what changes we are wanting to make in the system.

Paylocity Support

The Paylocity team is very responsive but is not always able to address the questions I have right away. Sometimes my support team does not appear to know the mechanics of how things work and need to get help themselves.

No, we do not. We can typically figure things out with little assistance.
Most recently I had two employees telling me that their child support payments were not being received by their ex-spouses. I contacted my support team and they confirmed immediately that we were sending payments in as were scheduled. That helped me out a lot and alleviated my concerns. The issue was with the state and the ex-spouse, not our company or Paylocity.
