Overall Satisfaction with Planful
We use Planful for financial reporting, consolidation, planning, modeling, and revenue analytics. We collect forecasts from all of our leaders around the world and Planful makes it easier to load and roll those templates up. As an international company, we do significant Fx variance impact and analysis, Planful makes this easy and accurate in a way that other systems I've used do not. Consolidation of multiple ledgers around the world is seamless once properly set up. Reporting experience is fluid and simple for unsophisticated users but versatile enough that experienced users can design some pretty cool outcomes for users.
- Reporting in Spotlight and the PCR is best in class.
- Alternative Fx scenario analysis is very good and fast
- Consolidation is seamless and never breaks
- The spotlight Excel add-in breaks sometimes and needs to be reinstalled.
- New features are great, but users care more about the existing features being flawless.
- The entire Finance organization leverages this application in one way or another. There is no question this tool is a force multiplier making the department materially more productive.
- Sales leaders and department heads use Planful for submitting forecast templates for easy roll-up and evaluation
- Finance leaders use Planful for modeling scenario analysis
Department heads and sales leaders can log in and update their planning templates and then click save and the roll-up is pretty much there depending on the level of manipulation post contributor the finance team wants to leverage. Furthermore, they can then view the submitted data in reporting with more context in terms of historicals, etc.
I still use multiple platforms for information integration exercises, but Planful is our primary tool for Financial Reporting, consolidation, and planning. It's a time save that all 3 are in the same place.
They all have pretty similar functionality, I liked Planful because it was all cloud-based and we didn't have to buy a bunch of hardware. Spotlight dynamic planning I felt was the most versatile available at the time, not sure if it still is, and I liked the idea of building the planning tool exactly how I wanted it I don't like being forced into a procedural structure because that's how other companies do it.
