Trials and Tribulations of Procore
Overall Satisfaction with Procore
Procore is currently being used differently as each job/project manager sees fit. On our project we use it for document control, RFIs, submittals and drawings. The main problems it addresses for us are the item we use it for. There are many programs that help organize your project but not as inclusive as Procore.
Pros
- Distribution of submittals is the easiest thing now. The submittal is uploaded and the architect is notified and then we are notified once the architect makes comments. We respond accordingly and at the push of a button we can send directly to subs,
- Organization of RFIs makes referring to and tracking simple.
- The ability to link items to drawings helps all trades and our own team know where questions have been asked and answered and where exactly certain sketches apply without the back and forth hassle.
Cons
- Each person likes to organize items their own way, Procore does not have that functionality to customize fully.
- Deleting items in every category comes with some hassle.
- Like I previously stated, we don't need a soul person track RFIs, submittals etc. when everyone (including subs) has access to the data.
Our use of BIM 360 was very basic. The items that I liked better on BIM was the adaptability of inspections and observations. However, the main thing that Procore has out done BIM on is the ability to link all items to drawings so that everyone can see in real time changes that have been made or needed to be made.
