Melissa's Procore Review
Overall Satisfaction with Procore
As a mechanical contractor, we use Procore through our general contractors. Procore has created a universal, consistent means of sharing information and documents. Procore allows all subcontractors involved on a project to access the most current drawings, specifications, and submittals. As any one in construction can tell you, communication plays a key role in our jobs and can critically impact a project. With Procore, communication is streamlined across every contractor and gets the entire team on the same page.
Pros
- Automatically creates "current" drawing sets. No more searching for the most recent drawing, it's all compiled on one page.
- Tracks emails sent. If I send a submittal to someone else in the Procore directory, Procore will track the email and keep a log of it.
Cons
- Recently, the drawing sets were changed, and I can no longer use a simple drop-down menu to select the drawing set. Now, I have to get to another page entirely to select the drawing set I'm looking for.
- With the point above, the specifications did not change, creating a small and very minor inconsistency
- Coming from a mechanical contractor, we have only invested time. We are forced to learn the programs that the GC uses, but with Procore, it is quick to learn and very user-friendly. Well worth the time invested into learning its functions.
