Overall Satisfaction with Prophix

Prophix is being used for financial planning and reporting. It is owned by the finance department but is used by the whole organization. It addresses the planning and reporting for the company...it is the one source of the truth.

  • Better ways to manage alternative hierarchies within the dimensions

  • Cheaper price point versus Hyperion
Data integration with Prophix is great - one of its many strengths. We use SQL scripts to staged data files...works great.
We host on-premise - that is important to us.....we don't need the cloud and it would not work for us as we need flexibility on refresh schedules.
100% responsive all the time....I feel completely supported by Prophix.
Prophix was as capable as Hyperion....just much cheaper and easier to deploy.
It is well suited for trial balance type planning as well as detailed planning (employee level). It has difficulty mixing hierarchy structure; have had difficulty with alternative hierarchies in the past.

Using Prophix

Didn't use the commentary....we used mostly e-mail and face to face meetings in our discussion.

Did use line item detail to add up subtotals....works great
