Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Pro

Our company has used Quickbooks Pro since 2008 for its basic accounting functions. With Quickbooks Pro, we are able to create purchase orders and process bills, create invoices, pull sales and financial reports. Working with government agencies that frequently like to audit, it is helpful to pull these comprehensive reports. These reports provide a top level view of the company and show insight into future financial decisions.

Quickbooks Pro lacks in the inventory department - we use it only for financial information.

For what Quickbooks Pro offers, it is highly intuitive and organized well. It has been easy to teach to others and I seldom run into issues. In the past, customer service has been stellar but the past few times I've reached out it seems they've moved to a foreign call center that offers little help. Their wonderful customer service was what compelled me to refer others to the software, but now I do so with hesitation.
  • Organize expenses.
  • Pay vendors.
  • Create Financial Statements.
  • Easy to reconcile bank statements.
  • Inventory!
  • Need capability to input sales orders.
  • Customer service.
  • Ability to approach audits with confidence.
  • Less time spent on invoicing and bill payment.
  • Clean record keeping.
Although QuickBooks Online does allow for remote capabilities, it just doesn't compare. The template customization is impossible. The desktop interface is not as friendly and not intuitive at all. The online version lacks the back and forth buttons the desktop version provides. I feel much more limited when using the online version versus the Pro.
First I would ask, what does the company provide? If it does manufacturing I would almost immediately say no. Tracking inventory is too crucial and this software only makes it more difficult. Then I would ask what size is the company? This really seems tailored more to small companies that do not have a lot of information that needs to be input. I would also ask if the employees are local or work remotely? Quickbooks Pro is desktop that can be shared through a connected network. If workers are remote, QuickBooks Online would be the next obvious option but I do not have much good to say about the online program.

QuickBooks Pro Support

I was a BIG fan of QuickBooks support for a very long time up until recently. The representatives were well trained and wanted to solve your problem for you, as a human, not as just a customer. In my recent experiences I feel as though that is no longer so. My last conversation was appalling. The representative only read the narrative provided over and over and would not send me on to a supervisor. Finally I hung up and called back. On this try, I was passed from department to department. I was not presented with a solution until I posted a rant on their Facebook page. It amazes me that I had to publicly complain to get results.
Quick Resolution
Good followup
Knowledgeable team
Problems get solved
Kept well informed
Immediate help available
Escalation required
Need to explain problems multiple times
Slow Initial Response
When my computer died and I need to transfer my license to the new computer, my representative found my license and transferred everything over remotely for me. I had to do nothing and I was set up in less than an hour with my full financials restored.
