Overall Satisfaction with Raiser's Edge NXT

We recently implemented Raiser's Edge NXT in our advancement/development/fundraising department. So far it has been helpful in providing improved access for the users in looking up records, obtaining financial information, and adding actions and notes. It is easy to use through the Google platform, which is a plus and the interface is easier for many people to use rather than the database view.
  • Looking up records is fast and easy and the information is displayed on the front page in a way that is easy to analyze.
  • It provides helpful prompts about constituents.
  • It is much easier to add notes and actions using Raiser's Edge NXT.
  • We are still new the product, but I am impressed with the front-page analytics it provides.
  • It would be nice if the administrators had access to edit more information on the Raiser's Edge NXT level.
  • It would be nice to have additional filtering capabilities with the lists.
  • A few of the settings by users are not readily apparent so we have to make sure they are viewing all the information correctly -- communications for example.

As stated previously, we are new to this platform in a small work environment so it will take some time for us to be able to evaluate whether these outcomes are achieved. I would say the cloud deployment is an instant success and expect it to increase our operational efficiency as well.
We benefit from AddressFinder, which helps us maintain up-to-date information on our donors and constituents. I have also participated in some webinars that were very helpful. Also the support services have been great in all my experiences. Whenever I've had a little problem or a big problem I have been able to quickly find a solution (if there is one) either online or through contact with Raiser's Edge support systems.
I have used Raiser's Edge since I began employment in my current position 14 years ago. I have also used Citrix/Jenzabar and find it is not anywhere near as useful for fundraising or tracking alumni for higher ed, although there may be components of it I have not used or that have not been available to me.
It is great for home use and though I haven't tried it on my iPhone yet I hear that it is easy to access and add notes and actions that way which is a big asset. It seems well suited for most any platform which is a big asset.

Our biggest challenge was finding the time during the hectic work pace to learn the new tools. In fact, we are still learning. Over all we were able to utilize the basic advantages right away.

Using Raiser's Edge NXT

I don't have much experience with other fundraising databases, but overall NXT has been great for a variety of users in offering a simpler interface for them to use in our office. I do wish it had a few more editing functions on the front end in regards to lists and especially sorting or printing lists. Overall it's a big advantage to have this interface and has been a big asset to us. We also really like the fundraising snapshots you can easily get. One thing about that though is that I wish one could download the PDF for a fundraising snapshot without the page breaks -- can't seem to download it to look the way I want. Great tool, however.

It's extremely useful for a variety of users. The analyze data dashboard is great. There are some areas that could be improved such as users being able to export lists.
