Great for Exam Season
Overall Satisfaction with Read&Write
We have just used Read&Write to assist with the current GCSE exams. It has been very useful for pupils who require a reader and has meant that they can be in the same room and we haven't needed as many invigilators and readers for the exam season.
Pros
- Exams
- English Language Classwork
- Useful in large class sizes
Cons
- Easier to install on school networks.
- saves staffing costs
- Pupils are not a conscious of other pupils realising they are having additional help
- Less readers and invigilators for exam season
It has worked well on our school network, as it is compatible with all devices we have in the school including desktops, laptops, chromebooks and iPads. It is also compatible with all browsers and more specifically the extensions which can be used with Safari, Edge and Chrome. This make it easy to access for all.
The Read&Write software has worked really well with our recent English Language exams as it has meant that the pupils feel they are more independent as they can use the software to read through the exam for them. It has also meant we can use less staff and don't have to allocate as many readers and we can also use less rooms around the school.
This is the first piece of software of this kind we have used.
