Overall Satisfaction with Red Hat OpenShift
speed to market for developers. extra layers to make k8s easier to use. more monitoring and integrations
Pros
- reliability
- more features
- automation
Cons
- storage availability
- Network performance
- enabled container development where standard k8s skills were lacking
- increase downtime during maintenance
- increase log expense due to excessive logging
the development process has been standardized to use containers and a lot of thought has gone into the separation of namespaces and re designing applications
We have moved some things in an out of OpenShift with relative ease due to the app being containerized and not proprietary
- Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
