Overall Satisfaction with RingCentral Video
We use RingCentral Video across the organization, for both internal meetings (between department members and with other departments in the same organization) and external meetings (with customers and suppliers). Having a virtual meeting tool has become critical during these times of the Covid-19 pandemic. Indeed, as people have become more used to virtual meetings and online collaboration, the workplace has also changed perhaps permanently as this sort of software becomes the norm.
- Similar interface to RingCentral Meetings
- Customer service is responsive and friendly
- Good integration with O365
- Only a rudimentary add-in for Outlook if using on-prem Exchange
- Bugs in screen sharing that include an "application was minimized" error and the inability to share audio from a pre-recorded video
- No simple way to join a RingCentral Video from the phone app without typing in the exact meeting ID, which can be tedious.
- RingCentral Video (RCV) has been a dud. It's not as user-friendly or as functional as RingCentral Meetings or Cisco Webex.
- RingCentral Video is bundled with the overall RingCentral licensing. RingCentral phone service is good, but RCV is not.
- Users have been reluctant to switch to RCV because it isn't as strong a platform as other options.
- RingCentral has not plans to offer Exchange on-prem integration with RCV.
We selected RingCentral for calling and we got RingCentral Video as part of the bundle. We thought we could reduce costs by using RingCentral for both calling and meetings. However, RingCentral Video is simply not a mature platform for meetings. Other options are better, which makes RingCentral calling a less attractive option.
