RingEX for Medium Sized Multistate Business
Overall Satisfaction with RingEX
At it's core RingEX is our corporate phone system, but also our online meeting, webinar, chat, and collaboration solution.
Pros
- Chat and Messaging - Conversations are easy to search, topics can be pinned or bookmarked, and groups are easy to create and administer.
- Phone - The core functionality works very well allowing voice, txt/sms, and faxing for all users. Administration is generally fairly easy as well.
- Mobile Client - the mobile app offers all of the same functionality as the desktop or web client.
- Video - Video calls make it easy to share screens with other users and includes a lot of tools for planning.
Cons
- Support - The onboarding process was poor, and ongoing support has become almost non-existent. It's sometimes easy to get an agent on the phone, but it's a crap shoot if the agent can actually help you and trouble tickets are a black hole that never get resolved.
- Account Management - The sales team is only helpful pre-sale, and then disappear.
- Functionality - Basic phone system functions are included and work well, but many business focused features such as IVR are locked behind expensive contact center solutions.
- Having a cloud based PBX has greatly increased the inter-company communication between HQ and branch offices. It's great to have a unified experience for all staff, even the mobile and work from home staff.
- The system has been very reliable, especially compared to our old on-prem solution. This has removed the maintenance burden form our IT staff, leaving only administration work.
- Support was merely ok when we started with the service and has steadily gotten worse leading to certain unsolvable issues that affecting some users.
The unified communications approach has greatly increased the level of internal communication and collaboration between all of our staff, but especially remote staff and branch offices. We would not have been able to offer "work from home" with out a solution like this.
Ooma is terrific and has a very reasonable price point, but doesn't scale the way we needed. MiCloud was a terribly complicated and unreliable service when we used it. RingEX has offered the functionality that we need for our entire staff and has been reliable.
