Overall Satisfaction with Rubrik
Presently we use Rubrik in the IT Department, but we intend to break out additional roles to developers and administrators to have more granular access. The problem that Rubrik addresses is that it streamlines testing, we have a dev environment with up-to-date information whenever we need it. We have fast recovery on-demand with file-level recoveries faster than ever with Rubrik's indexing across all backups we can search in a moment and find where that file's physical location and if it was duplicated in our environment. Rubrik offers easy-to-understand and -apply backup policies (SLA) that with a few clicks and I've customized a backup schedule for an entire department, group of servers or datacenter. Previously this was a tedious process that required customized settings and troubleshooting to streamline. We also have something we've never had before, analytics on our backups for ransomware and compliance. We know where people are storing data and if it matches our compliance needs and we have heuristics analyzing our backups constantly looking for abnormalities. I've never slept better since having Rubrik protect my data.

- It would be nicer if Rubrik had better networking options out of the box for machines being restored to a location other than their normal location.
- Better node reporting or performance, we have had a few nodes need to be rebooted.
- Rubrik has eliminated all our other backup tools that we were trying to accomplish what they offer.
- Rubrik has made management of backups a non-issue.
- Recovery of systems and files takes seconds or minutes.
- We have a better strategy against ransomware.
I have used Veeam for longer than the other solutions so I am familiar with the interfaces, scheduling, targets and recovery. Rubrik offers the same protection with less tweaking with better performance. For Zerto, it was a close competitor for everything we were looking for, but the hosting solution we had chosen made the solution the wrong choice for us. We very often had failed backups, got calls in the middle of the night for backup jobs not working and it seemed to have an easy runbook for failover but we could never get it working right. Unitrends and SnapVault were some of the worst we tried with compatibility and performance being high on the list.
